  1. Powder Bridge: The Powder Bridge was built in 1533 as a covered wooden crossing on stone pillars.
  2. Northern Wing: In the 16th century two large halls - the Spanish Hall (statuary) and the Rudolf Gallery (paintings) - had to be built in the Northern Wing for the rapidly-growing collections of the Emperor. The Long Corridor which connects the Northern Wing with Rudolf's Summer Palace in the Southern Wing was home to the Kunstkammer.
  3. Bishop's Tower: This tower was reserved for the use of the Imperial Mathematician (Tycho Brahe) when he was in Prague.
  4. Old White Tower
  5. Rudolf's (Summer) Palace:

  7. Cathedral of St. Vitus: The central cathedral of Prague, the small chapel outside its doors was dedicated to St. Vojtech (Adalbert), patron saint of Bohemia.

  9. Powder Tower: As its name suggests, this was once the storage tower for the castle's armaments. In 1541 the tower was completely damaged by the catastrophic fire in the Lesser Town and Hradcany. The tower was rebuilt for Tomas Jaros, a gunsmith and bell founder, who used the Powder Tower as his home and workshop. When Rudolf arrived to claim the castle, he set up his alchemical laboratory here.
  10. Royal Palace: The older royal residence, it dates to the 12th century and Vladislav Hall and the Church of All Saints are part of the palace structure. Vladislav Hall, added in the 1480s, was the scene of coronation festivities and banquets, knights' tournaments and markets with artistic and luxurious goods.
  11. Church of All Saints
  12. Basilica of St. George with the Convent: The oldest church on the castle grounds, it is a Romanesque church dating from the 9th century and the original Prague Castle.

  14. Pernstejn Palace: One of two private noble residences on the palace grounds.
  15. New White Tower: This tower was built in the early 16th century, and used as a prison for nobles since 1584. Kelley was detained here.
  16. Daliborka Tower: Another tower-prison. Running alongside the north wall of the castle near the tower is Golden Lane, home to the castle's sharpshooters and various luxury merchants and craftsmen.

  18. Western Gate
  19. Gate to the Castle Stairs
