Scenes:

Scene 1: Benatky. Salih and Lóránt both try to exert influence on Kepler and Tycho, in opposite directions. Kepler has a revelation he shares with Lóránt regarding the movement of the planets, thanks to Salih's bestowment of exceptional luck.

Scene 2: The Kunstkammer. Matthieu renders the egg's shell invisible and sketches the strange creature gestating within.

Scene 3: The Old Castle. Santiago eavesdrops on the Transylvanian contingent, and discovers some secrets about them.

Scene 4: Ernst consults with Ludovic again, and then prepares for the Emperor's return. He speaks to Matthieu, Makovsky, Santiago and Typotius about the Egg and the Transylvanians.

Scene 5: Salih accompanies Lóránt in his walk around the Jewish quarter. Investigation tells him that the guild masters fear the Gentiles and are recruiting a private army to defend the Quarter. It is headquartered at the Goldsmiths' guild. Salih and Lóránt go there to sign up with the master, but are met with suspicion and sent away. Salih detects Space magic in the place.

Scene 6: Ernst accompanies a young woman of the Transylvanian contingent back to her home. The guards do not see her.

Scene 7: The Peregrini plus Lóránt use magic to see what the scraps of paper inside the guild say.

Scene 8: Ernst discovers he has written for the Transylvanians to see the Emperor first, though he does not remember it. Lórant does not join the cabal the next morning because he is lost.
