Plan for Ketev Meriri:

"I'm making a permanent Twilight Gate."

"What?"

"When I'm done with this, it will permanently grant us access to the Lands of the Dead in this area."

"This is a good thing?"

"This is a great thing! It doesn't work both ways."

"You'll have to forgive me... I've had a lot thrown at me today."

"You've seen this with Death sight, what a rich place this is."

"That is not why we are here. Now, we seek this entity which has infested the Jewish Quarter. We have theories on how we could overcome it. We don't yet have a plan, but from the lore we have uncovered, this creature cannot strike down those who are fortunate, wealthy, influential, powerful... those such as yourself. I can bestow that fortune upon others for a time, but it may be able to see through that illusion. So when we go to deal with it, we would like you along with us. Our goal is to cause the creature to become real, so that we can dismiss it. If our research is correct, we have a better chance of

"The human shield -- to use the person with good fortune -- is actually treated as the ethical solution in the tales."

"I have had much experience fighting. I can be useful as a shield and a protector just as myself."

"That's why we want to know if you are willing to help us slay the beast." - Salih

"How sure are you that this is what is causing this?"

"Absolutely. We are just unsure on how to properly dismiss the entity."

Salih goes on to explain the markers inscribed act as its fetters in this world.

"How do we identify them without being able to see them?"

"Would it show itself if it had a reason to show itself? As the myth goes, what is its motivation, what does it want?"

The mages and Lóránt consider this for a moment and then use Ernst's question as a catalyst for their strategizing.

Goldschieder finds some sort of ritual to summon a "protector." It is able to stay in this plane because of the fetters, but why does it want to stay? It wants to take this part of the city back to the Abyss, or plant a seed of the Abyss here in Prague. It wants to break down the barriers between the worlds.

"If this... creature feeds on power and wants to get a foothold here. Perhaps the mere presence of myself will be enough to bring it out."

"Lóránt is the living embodiment of everything that Goldschieder's faction fears about the Emperor and Gentiles."

"I think that we should go there, the five of us, to the synagogue, and see if we can find a fetter there. As the geographic and spiritual center of the Jewish Quarter, it's likely something there. We should go at night, when the entity is weakest."

"One, we should be blindfolded or somehow protected from viewing its eyes. Two, can you enchant our weapons to strike it as a spirit?"

Salih realizes that he will need Mana to fight the entity, so he decides to ask Perun if he can perform an oblation in his tower. Matthieu thinks about making protective spectacles and considers his anemia after being fed on.
